Chapter one

The A-List journey.

A-List Salon & Barber was born from a shared vision between Aleigh and Terrence Coles, a husband and wife team with a passion for transformative hair salon services and grooming. What began as a dream in 2015 has grown into a Columbia destination for hair color, highlights, precision cuts, and modern luxury styling.

Aleigh and Terrence recognized the need for a hair salon that combined the best of both worlds, where expert hair color, women’s styling, and men’s precision cuts could be found under one roof, delivered with genuine care and skill.

Today, A-List has evolved into more than just a hair salon and barbershop. It brings a full-service salon, barbershop, and nail studio together under one roof, and it’s a place where clients become friends and everyone who walks through our doors is treated like family.

Born and raised in Columbia, Aleigh has been helping clients feel confident and beautiful behind the chair since 2014.

A passion for personal transformation and a deep love for the craft shape every appointment, whether a client is ready for a bold new look or just needs a refresh. Blonding and precision women’s cuts are her favorite work, and her book also covers men’s grooming, rejuvenating pedicures, and facial waxing.

TerrenceColes Sr.

A licensed barber originally from Detroit, Michigan, Terrence started cutting hair back in 2005, hooking up friends and college students while chasing other dreams.

In 2023 he made the leap into barber school and earned his license in 2024, shifting from a career in healthcare to something that had always been close to his heart. Barbering is more than a profession for him. It lets him combine a long-held passion for mentoring and life coaching with helping people look and feel their best.
